Southern Pines Builds

Why build with us

A builder who treats your home like his own.

Aly and Mitch Trees, owners of Southern Pines

The why behind the brand

Built by someone who's watched it done wrong.

Mitch built Southern Pines because he watched the industry treat homeowners like transactions — rushed timelines, cheaper materials swapped in when nobody was looking, problems walked away from instead of solved.

He believes a home is one of the most significant things a family will ever invest in, and that the person building it owes them the same care and honesty he'd want if the roles were reversed. Southern Pines exists to prove that building a home can feel like a collaboration, not a gamble.

That's not a tagline. It's the standard behind every decision about materials, methods, and who's allowed to work on your home.

Our pillars

Six things we refuse to compromise on.

The Owner Is On the Job

Mitch isn't a salesperson who hands your project off after the contract is signed. He's a working builder who has learned the trade from every angle, and the person you shake hands with at the start is the person on your site through the finish.

Building Science Over Shortcuts

There's a right way to put a home together, and a dozen faster, cheaper ways that create problems years down the road. We build the way homes need to be built, not the way that clears a schedule fastest.

Honest Numbers, No Surprises

We price as close to actual as possible from the beginning, not a low-ball that comes back as change orders. When scope changes, you know before the work changes.

Design-to-Build, One Roof

The home that gets drawn is a home that can actually be built the way it was drawn, within the budget it was designed for. One team, one relationship, no hand-offs.

Intentional Spaces for Real Life

We don't build square footage, we build how your family actually lives. The early conversations are about mornings in the kitchen, dogs in the backyard, and what gathering looks like in your household.

Problems Solved Before They're Yours

Every build hits complications. What we control is whether any of them ever land on your plate. Most of the time, you'll never know they happened.

"Every client who has built with us came through a personal referral — not an ad, not a search engine."

That's the standard we're held to every time we break ground

Straight answers

The price conversation, handled with respect.

Sticker shock and hidden costs are the most common complaints families have after building with someone else. It usually starts with a low number that was never going to hold.

We'd rather have an honest conversation up front. You'll know what things actually cost before we break ground, you'll understand what your allowances really cover, and if scope ever changes, you'll know before the work changes — never after.

Pricing conversations at Southern Pines are a form of respect.
